Why I love Hwy 1 (Pictorial Evidence)

That is, as far as highways go...

P.S. The driver of the vehicle and the handler of the picture camera were not one and the same individual. Also, no animals were harmed in the making of this blog content.

Beautiful! Is Hwy 1 the same thing as the PCH (not sure if you say "the" PCH or just PCH)?

I'm not sure, but that's a good point, because "technically" a true Californian would say "the 1" not "Hwy 1."

I think "the 101" is also the redwood highway. It would stand to reason that the pacific coast highway would be the 1. It's literally coastal view for miles and miles, and it's just so incredible.

I looked it up and apparently the PCH (you do say "the") is the same as Highway 101. I drove on it briefly in the Los Angeles area (actually, I can't remember if I was driving or a passenger) and it's so lovely.

My "expert" (Mike) says that the 1 and 101 are one and the same in several locations, including San Francisco, and maybe also in LA. Anyway, his point is he would then agree that the 101 is the PCH. Also, north of Seattle, he feels the 101 is the PCH. There is definitely a huge section of the 101, near where I live, where it is the "redwood highway;" it is too far inland to be considered coastal in those spots.

According to Wikipedia sections of the 101 in So-Cal is considered the Pacific Coast Highway. Sections of the 101 in Nor-Cal is considered the Redwood Highway.
